Suno v6 Is Live in Kolbo - Set the Exact Length of Every Song

Suno v6, v6 Mini and v6 Wild are live in Kolbo.AI. The headline is length control: set anything from 10 seconds to 6 minutes with a slider or an exact m:ss value, at the same 15 credits as before.

NEW MODEL
10 seconds to 6 minutes, your call. A 15-second sting, a 30-second ad bed, or a full 3-minute track, all from the same model.

Suno has never let you set how long a song runs on Kolbo. You typed a prompt, picked a style, and got whatever length Suno decided was right. Most of the time that was fine. The rest of the time you needed a 30-second bed for a pre-roll ad, or a 15-second sting to close out a Short, and you were stuck trimming a two-minute track down to size and hoping the edit landed on a beat.

That changes today. Suno v6, Suno v6 Mini, and Suno v6 Wild are all live in the Music tool, and v6 and v6 Wild both let you set the exact length of the song you're generating, anywhere from 10 seconds to 6 minutes. Drag a slider or type the exact time, down to the second.

How Length Control Works

Open Music, pick your style and lyrics as usual, and you'll see a length control alongside it. Auto is the default, and on Auto, Suno still picks its own natural length exactly the way it always has, so nothing changes if you don't touch the setting.

Move off Auto and you're in control. Drag the slider to roughly where you want it, or type an exact value like 0:30 or 2:15 if you need to hit a specific runtime for an ad slot, a video cutaway, or a scene. Suno v6 will build the song to land there.

Suno v6 Mini does not support length control. kie's own documentation lists it as supported, but three separate live tests asking Mini for 20, 30, and 60-second songs all came back around 200-220 seconds regardless of what we asked for. Rather than show you a control that doesn't do anything, Kolbo simply doesn't offer it on Mini. If length matters, use v6 or v6 Wild.

Short Lengths Are Style-Dependent, and We Tell You

Ask for a genuinely short song and the model behaves like a musician, not a clock. A sparse, ambient prompt asked for 13 seconds comes back close to 13 seconds, because there's little structure to resolve. A dense, full-arrangement rock prompt asked for the same 13 seconds tends to land closer to 42 seconds, because Suno finishes the musical phrase it started rather than cutting it off mid-bar.

By around 30 seconds, both styles converge and the length you set is the length you get. Kolbo doesn't block short requests on dense styles. It just doesn't pretend a 13-second stadium rock anthem is realistic, and it tells you that up front instead of quietly returning something longer than you asked for.

What Else Changed

Suno's own positioning for v6 is more natural vocals and a cleaner overall mix. We haven't run our own benchmark on that, so take it as Suno's claim rather than ours, tested and reported when we have numbers worth publishing.

The older rows, v5.5, v5, and v4.5+, are all still there and still selectable if you have a workflow tuned to one of them. v6 is simply the new default when you open the tool.

What It Costs

15 credits, across all three models. Same price as the Suno rows before them. Length control is a feature, not a surcharge.

What's new in Suno v6?

Three new models: Suno v6 (the new default), Suno v6 Mini, and Suno v6 Wild. The headline feature is length control: you can now set an exact song length from 10 seconds to 6 minutes instead of letting Suno decide.

Does length control work on all three models?

No. It works on Suno v6 and Suno v6 Wild. Suno v6 Mini does not support it in practice, even though it's documented upstream as supported, so Kolbo doesn't expose the control on Mini.

Can I get a very short clip, like a 10-second sting?

Yes, but how short depends on the style. Sparse or ambient prompts hit short targets closely. Dense, fully-arranged styles tend to run longer than requested at very short lengths because Suno completes a musical phrase before stopping. Both converge by about 30 seconds.

Does this cost more than the old Suno models?

No. All three new models are 15 credits, the same price as before.

Is this available now?

Yes, live in the Music tool today.
