AI Credits That Roll Over: How Kolbo.AI Rollover Saves Teams Money

Kolbo.AI credits roll over month to month, so a quiet month pays for a busy one. How rollover works for personal plans and Team pools, its limits, and a worked example.

By Kolbo.AI Team
Unused AI credits from a quiet month carried forward into a busy production month

Creative work does not arrive in even monthly slices. One month the team is planning a campaign and barely generates anything. The next month the campaign ships and everyone is rendering video at the same time.

Most AI subscriptions are built for the even month. Credits you do not use by the renewal date disappear, so you either waste them in quiet months or pay for a plan sized to your busiest month all year round.

Kolbo.AI credits roll over. What you do not use this month stays in your balance for the next one, up to three months' worth. A quiet month pays for a busy one.

How rollover works on Kolbo.AI

Paid subscription credits roll over from month to month while your subscription is active. The balance can build up to three times your monthly allowance. That is a cap on how much you can bank, not an expiry date: credits do not vanish after three months.

Annual plans work the same way. Credits arrive monthly, not as one yearly lump, and roll over under the same three-month cap.

Purchased credit packs never expire. They sit outside the subscription cap and stay in your account even if you cancel your subscription.

One rule to know: if your paid subscription ends, the rolled-over subscription balance returns to the free allowance. Packs you bought stay.

Why rollover matters more for teams

A solo creator can usually predict next month. A team cannot. Clients approve late, a launch slips, a pitch lands at the last minute. With a reset-every-month plan, the team lead has two bad options:

  1. Size the plan for the average month and buy expensive top-ups (or stop work) in the peak month.
  2. Size the plan for the peak month and throw away credits in every other month.

Rollover removes that choice. You size the plan for your average month, and quiet months fund the busy ones.

How a Kolbo.AI Team pool works

The Team plan has two parts: a seat for each member and a shared monthly credit pool the team chooses. Admins hand credits from the pool to members as projects need them. Credits left unassigned in the pool roll over to the next month, up to three times the monthly pool.

Checked 29 October 2026, Team pricing is $15 per member per month plus $9.40 per 1,000 pool credits, with 25% off on annual billing. Teams have 3 to 15 members; larger teams go to Enterprise.

A worked example: a 5-person team over three months

A five-person studio works on a campaign. Its usage is uneven:

MonthCredits used
Month 1: planning10,000
Month 2: production starts20,000
Month 3: launch60,000
Total90,000

With rollover (Kolbo.AI Team, 30,000-credit pool):

MonthPool grantBalance before workUsedCarried to next month
130,00030,00010,00020,000
230,00050,00020,00030,000
330,00060,00060,0000

The plan costs 5 x $15 + 30 x $9.40 = $357 a month, $1,071 for the three months, and the launch month is fully covered.

Without rollover (credits reset every month): to survive the 60,000-credit launch month on the same prices, the pool has to be 60,000 credits every month: 5 x $15 + 60 x $9.40 = $639 a month, $1,917 for three months. That is $846 more, and 90,000 credits are thrown away along the way.

The prices and usage are an illustration. Your own saving depends on how uneven your months are: the bigger the gap between quiet and busy months, the more rollover is worth.

What rollover does and does not do

It does: stop you paying for credits you never use, let you size the plan for an average month, and absorb deadlines, pitches and launches without emergency top-ups.

It does not: make each credit cheaper. Rollover saves money by cutting waste, not by lowering the price of a generation. If your team uses the full allowance every single month, rollover changes nothing for you. Compare per-generation prices separately; our cost calculation method shows how.

How other platforms handle unused credits

Checked 8 October 2026, from each platform's own help pages:

  • Higgsfield individual plans: subscription credits reset each cycle, and purchased packs expire after 90 days. Enterprise contracts can include rollover. (source)
  • Artlist Studio: monthly allowances normally reset; eligible one-off top-ups expire after 30 days. (source)
  • OpenArt: base subscription credits reset monthly; purchased add-on credits roll over. (source)
  • Magnific (formerly Freepik): annual plans give one credit pool valid for a year, with no monthly reset.

Rules change, so check each platform's current terms before you compare.

Tips to get the most out of rollover

  • Start with the average month. Look at your last three months of usage and size the plan or pool to the average, not the peak.
  • Bank before a known launch. If a big project is coming, the quiet weeks before it are already paying for it.
  • Keep packs for true spikes. Packs never expire, so a pack bought for one launch is still there for the next.
  • Watch the 3x cap. If your balance is already near three months of credits, use them or lower the plan: new grants stop growing the balance past the cap.
  • Assign team credits as projects start. Unassigned pool credits roll over at the team level, so hand them out when a project needs them, not all on day one.

Frequently asked questions

Do Kolbo.AI credits expire?

Subscription credits roll over while your paid subscription is active, up to three months' worth. Purchased packs never expire. If a paid subscription ends, the rolled-over subscription balance returns to the free allowance, while packs stay.

What is the rollover limit?

Three times your monthly allowance. For example, a plan with 9,500 credits a month can build a balance of up to 28,500 subscription credits. Packs do not count toward this cap.

Do annual plans roll over too?

Yes. Annual plans grant credits every month and they roll over under the same three-month cap.

Do team credits roll over?

Yes. Unassigned credits in a Team pool roll over to the next month, up to three times the monthly pool.

Is a plan with rollover always cheaper?

No. Rollover saves money when your usage changes from month to month. If you use exactly your allowance every month, it makes no difference. It never lowers the price of a single generation.

Can I move rolled-over credits to a teammate?

Purchased pack credits can be sent to another Kolbo.AI account with Send Credits. Subscription credits stay on the account that received them. On a Team plan, admins assign pool credits to members.

Plan for your average month, not your worst one. See plans and Team pricing.
