Seedance 2.5 Pricing: What One Clip Actually Costs on Every Platform

A five second Seedance 2.5 clip costs 151 credits on Kolbo.AI and 32.5 credits on Higgsfield.

Read those two numbers on their own and Kolbo.AI looks more than four times as expensive. It is not. A Higgsfield credit costs roughly five times more to buy than a Kolbo.AI credit. Once you convert both to money, the same clip, on the same model, at the same resolution, costs $1.26 on Kolbo.AI and $1.40 on Higgsfield.

This is the single most common mistake people make when choosing an AI video platform, and it is an easy one to make, because every pricing page in this industry is denominated in a unit the vendor invented for itself. This guide shows how to convert credits into real money, then applies that conversion to Seedance 2.5, Seedance 2.0 and the rest of the video catalogue across the platforms we can measure directly.

What determines the cost of a Seedance clip?

Four things, and only one of them appears on most pricing pages.

The model tier. Seedance 2.5 is the flagship. Seedance 2.0 is roughly a third cheaper for work that does not need the newest model, and the Fast and Mini variants drop further again. Choosing the right tier is usually a bigger saving than choosing the right platform.

The resolution. Every platform charges a multiplier for higher output. On Kolbo.AI, Seedance 2.5 at 1080p costs a little over twice what it costs at 720p. This is where most accidental overspending happens: people render drafts at final quality.

The duration. Video models bill per second, so a ten second clip costs twice a five second one. Any comparison that quotes a price per clip without saying how long the clip is cannot be checked.

What a credit costs on that platform. The invisible variable, and frequently the decisive one. This is what the rest of this guide is about.

Why credit counts cannot be compared

A credit is not a unit of anything. It is a token each company defines however it likes, and the definitions are wildly different.

The spread across that column is more than fifty to one. A Higgsfield credit costs about 5.2 times a Kolbo.AI credit; an Artlist credit costs about a fifth of one. None of that tells you anything about which is cheaper, because the number of credits each platform charges per clip varies by even more. Artlist bills 600 credits per second of Seedance 2.5. We bill 30.2. That is the other half of the sum, and it is the half that decides the answer.

That last row is worth sitting with. Magnific's entry plan advertises 20,000 credits a month against Kolbo.AI's 2,500 on Lite, which reads like an eight fold advantage and means nothing at all, because their credit is worth roughly a tenth as much. Any comparison that stops at the credit count will get the answer exactly backwards.

How to work out the real cost

Three multiplications. Worked here on Seedance 2.5 at 720p, Kolbo.AI Professional against Higgsfield Ultra.

Step one: what does one credit cost? Divide the plan's monthly price by the credits it grants.

Kolbo.AI      $79.00 / 9,500  = $0.008316 per credit
Higgsfield   $129.00 / 3,000  = $0.043000 per credit

Step two: what does the model cost per second? On Kolbo.AI this is published per model and multiplied by the resolution tier. On Higgsfield we measured it through their own pricing endpoint, which returns the cost of a job without running it.

Step three: multiply into money.

Kolbo.AI     30.2 x 5 x $0.008316 = $1.2557
Higgsfield    6.5 x 5 x $0.043000 = $1.3975

A difference of 10.1 percent. Only at this point are the two sides in the same unit and genuinely comparable.

One detail that matters if you reproduce this yourself: round at the end, not in the middle. Taking the two rounded prices, $1.26 and $1.40, and dividing those gives 10 percent, which happens to agree here. Do the same with Wan 3.0's $0.48 and $0.54 and you get 11 percent when the true figure is 10.3. Rounding first is how a pricing table ends up disagreeing with itself.

Seedance 2.5 cost per clip, platform by platform

Six platforms, each on its largest self-serve plan, monthly billing. Using each platform's biggest plan is deliberate: top tiers carry the best per-credit rate, so this is the comparison most favourable to everyone else.

The last column is the same at every duration, and that is not a coincidence. Every platform here bills per second of output, with no minimum block, so the ratio between any two of them holds whether you are making a five second cutaway or a thirty second spot. One number describes the whole relationship.

There is one caveat on that. Published research on Magnific says they round duration up to the next four second block, which would make a five second clip bill as eight. We could not confirm it against Magnific's own documentation, which returned an error to us, so we have priced them at their straight per second rate rather than publish a penalty we cannot verify. If the rounding is real, their five second figure is $2.96 rather than $1.85.

The same table for Seedance 2.0

Krea sells Seedance 2.0 but does not publish its credit draw, so it cannot be priced here. Its Seedance 2.5 figure above comes from the cost table inside the app, not from the public API pricing page, which omits Seedance 2.5 entirely.

The plan that cannot afford one clip

The clearest illustration of why credit counts are meaningless is Artlist's entry plan.

Artlist AI Starter costs $27 a month and grants 16,500 credits. Artlist charges 600 credits per second for Seedance 2.5, so one thirty second clip at 720p costs 18,000 credits. The plan cannot produce a single one, and it is sold on a feature list whose first line reads "Including: Seedance 2.5".

Their mid tier, marked Most Popular at $93 a month, works out at 4.4 such clips a month. On the plan above that, $530 a month, a thirty second clip costs $19.09 against our $7.53.

Seedance 2.5 also does not appear on any of Artlist's Unlimited model lists. The models covered there are the cheaper ones, Seedance 2.0 Mini and Seedance 1.0 Pro Fast among them. The flagship always draws credits, whatever tier you are on.

We are not picking on Artlist. Their published rate is simply the highest in this comparison, and their entry plan is where a per second credit rate and a monthly allowance collide most visibly. The same arithmetic is worth doing on any platform before you subscribe: divide the allowance by the per clip cost of the model you actually intend to use, at the length you actually intend to make.

Seedance 2.0 versus Seedance 2.5

Most people reach for the flagship by reflex. For a lot of work, the tier below is the real answer. All figures below are one five second clip at 720p on Kolbo.AI Professional.

Seedance 2.0 Mini costs a little over a third of the flagship. If you are exploring compositions, testing prompts, or generating variations you intend to throw away, that difference compounds fast across a working day.

Every video model, compared

Kling 3.0 Pro is compared at 1080p because neither platform sells it below that. Quoting it at 720p would describe a render neither service can actually produce.

Against Magnific, priced per second of video since their clip lengths vary by model from two to five seconds:

That last row is not a typo. Wan 3.0 at 1080p is cheaper on Magnific, by about 2 percent, and it stays in this table. A comparison with no losing rows in it is not a comparison, and the one honest row is what should make you trust the other seven. Worth noting that Magnific is currently running a 40 percent discount badge on that specific model, so the gap may close or widen when it ends. Wan 3.0 Prime, the tier above it, is 22 percent cheaper on Kolbo.AI.

What does a finished video actually cost?

Per clip pricing is abstract. Here is a real unit of work: a sixty second video assembled from twelve five second Seedance 2.5 clips.

The spread across one minute of finished video is $15.07 to $38.18, and every row is the same model at the same resolution. Against the closest competitor the gap is $1.70 a video; against the far end it is $23.11, which is more than the whole video costs on Kolbo.AI. A team shipping one of these a week is looking at roughly $88 a year at the near end and $1,202 at the far end, on Seedance alone, before any other model enters the picture.

On an annual Professional plan the same minute costs $11.25, which widens every gap in the table by a further quarter.

And note the resolution jump. The same sixty seconds costs roughly twice as much at 1080p as at 720p on any platform. Drafting at 720p and rendering only your final cut at 1080p will save you more money than switching vendors will.

What is the cheapest way to run Seedance 2.5?

In order of how much they actually save you:

Draft on a lower tier. Seedance 2.0 Mini is 62 percent cheaper per clip than 2.5. Explore on Mini, commit on 2.5. This dwarfs every other saving on this page.

Draft at 720p. Roughly halves the cost of every exploratory render. Move to 1080p only for shots that made the final cut.

Match the duration to the shot. Video bills per second. A three second cutaway rendered at ten seconds wastes 70 percent of what you paid for it.

Pay annually if your usage is steady. On Kolbo.AI the annual discount scales with the plan, from 26 percent on Lite up to 37 percent on Professional 3x. On Professional it takes Seedance 2.5 from $1.26 to $0.94 a clip.

Then pick the platform. It matters, but it is the smallest lever of the five.

The number no price table shows: what happens to credits you do not spend

Everything above compares the cost of a clip you actually generate. It says nothing about the credits you paid for and never used, and for most people that is a larger number than the per clip difference.

On Kolbo.AI, unused credits roll over, up to three times your plan's monthly allowance. On Higgsfield and Artlist they do not. Higgsfield's pricing page states that subscription credits expire at the end of each billing cycle. Artlist's help centre is equally direct: "AI credits do not roll over from month to month." Artlist adds that any top-up credits you buy separately expire 30 days after purchase, and that if your subscription lapses your remaining balance is set to zero.

That is not a small footnote. Creative work is not evenly distributed across a calendar: a quiet fortnight followed by a heavy launch week is the normal shape of a production schedule, and nobody consumes exactly one twelfth of their annual output every month. Every credit that expires unused was still paid for.

Here is what it does to the comparison. Instead of cost per credit, look at cost per credit actually used, which is the number that leaves your bank account either way.

At 80 percent utilisation an Ultra subscriber burns about $26 a month in credits that simply vanish. Our column does not move, because on Kolbo.AI those credits are still there next month.

And there is no per generation billing. Your subscription is the price. You are never charged per clip on top of it, there is no surprise invoice at the end of a heavy month, and you can cancel at any time without a settlement charge for what you already generated.

Because a Kolbo.AI credit is worth less money. Kolbo.AI credits cost $0.008316 each on the Professional plan, Higgsfield credits cost $0.043000 each on Ultra, a ratio of about 5.2 to 1. Kolbo.AI charges 151 credits for a five second Seedance 2.5 clip and Higgsfield charges 32.5, so in money the clip is $1.26 against $1.40. How much does a 5 second Seedance 2.5 video cost?

On Kolbo.AI Professional, $1.26 at 720p or $2.59 at 1080p, dropping to $0.94 at 720p on an annual plan. At 720p the same clip is $1.40 on Higgsfield Ultra, $1.47 on OpenArt Wonder, $1.50 on Krea Max, $1.85 on Magnific Pro and $3.18 on Artlist AI Professional. A thirty second clip costs exactly six times each of those figures, because all six platforms bill per second.

Is Seedance 2.0 good enough, or do I need 2.5?

Seedance 2.0 costs about 30 percent less per clip and remains an excellent model. The Fast and Mini variants cost 46 and 62 percent less respectively. For exploration, prompt testing, and any variation you expect to discard, the lower tiers are almost always the right call. Save 2.5 for shots that ship.

How many Seedance clips does a subscription actually give me?

Divide the plan's monthly credit allowance by the credit cost of the clip you intend to make. The answer is often much smaller than the credit count suggests. Kolbo.AI Professional grants 9,500 credits and a thirty second Seedance 2.5 clip at 720p costs 906, so about ten a month alongside everything else the plan covers. Artlist's entry plan grants 16,500 credits and the same clip costs 18,000 there, so that plan cannot produce one. This is the arithmetic worth doing before subscribing anywhere, including here, and it is why credit totals on their own are not a useful basis for comparison.

Almost certainly, and this is the part to watch. This guide was compiled on 26 August 2026 from measurements taken on 25 August 2026. Several Kolbo.AI model prices are currently at a promotional level that runs through 15 September 2026, after which they return to their previous rates unless extended. Magnific is running discount badges of 23 to 50 percent on several models including Wan 3.0 and MiniMax H3, and Higgsfield's per model rates move too. Any AI video pricing comparison is a snapshot, including this one. Check the measurement date at the top before relying on the numbers, and treat any pricing article that does not carry one with suspicion.

How do I compare AI video platforms myself?

Convert everything to money before you compare anything. Take each plan's monthly price, divide by the credits it grants to get a cost per credit, then multiply by the credits that platform charges for the specific model, resolution and duration you actually use. Compare per second rather than per clip, because default clip lengths differ between platforms and even between models on the same platform. Never compare raw credit counts, and never compare a plan against a competitor's differently sized plan without normalising for price.

Change any one of those and the ranking can change with it. We have shown at least one comparison where a competitor is cheaper than us, because a comparison with no losing rows is marketing rather than analysis.
