Image generation in Kolbo now has an explicit quality control. For supported models, you can set the tier before you run: Low, Medium, High, or Auto. Each tier affects the level of detail, processing time, and credit cost. Auto is the smart default - it picks the right tier for the content and only charges what the generation actually cost.
The Tiers
Low is fast and cheap. Useful for rapid iteration, composition checks, and drafts where you need to see the general direction before committing to a final. Lower detail, shorter processing time, fewer credits.
Medium is the balanced middle ground - good enough for most non-final work, more detailed than Low, and faster and cheaper than High.
High is for finals. Maximum detail, sharpest textures, best color accuracy, highest processing time and credit cost. Use it when the output goes to a client, a campaign, or a print.
Auto lets the platform decide. It picks the tier that suits the generation - the model, the resolution, the content type - and submits accordingly. At the end, you are charged based on what was actually used, not a reserved estimate. This means Auto will sometimes cost less than High even when it produces high-quality results.
How Credits Work with Auto
With fixed tiers, you pay the stated cost for that tier upfront. With Auto, the credit cost is confirmed after the generation completes, based on the actual resources used. The range is shown before you run so there are no surprises.
Which Models Support It
Quality tiers are available on supported image generation models in the Text-to-Image tool. The quality selector appears in the settings panel when you choose a model that supports it. Models that do not have a quality tier system run at their standard fixed quality and cost, unchanged.
Get Started
Open Image Tools, select a supported model, and look for the quality tier selector in the settings panel on the right.
