Case Study

Chicken Invaders, Dad 'n Me, Icy Tower, Bubble Trouble. The games you played on the family PC, remade as real-looking live-action films. One of them passed 2 million views on a single Instagram reel.

Viral Nostalgic Games is a series of short vertical films. Each one takes a classic game and shoots it as if it were a live-action movie, faithful to the original down to the props and sounds. Creator Roi Harel joins the game: when the game has a hero, he becomes the companion; when it does not, he is the operator, like the pilot of the Chicken Invaders ship.

The Chicken Invaders film reached 2,033,908 views on one Instagram trial reel.

One agent, the whole pipeline

The project had a second goal, just as important as the films: automation. An AI agent, Claude Code connected to the Kolbo.AI MCP, made every image and every video. Each correction from the team became a written rule in the agent's skills, so the next game runs further on its own.

The numbers from the first days show the scale. Within about two days, 12 games were taken in, each with its own Kolbo.AI project, and research ran on 11 of them in parallel. The pilot, Dad 'n Me, went through about 267 generations and 14 team review rounds before the rules settled.

The pipeline, game by game

1. Research and gameplay decode

The agent studies the original game first: gameplay frames, sounds, characters, levels. Every detail in the film traces back to a moment in the game. Nothing is invented except Roi.

2. Fidelity check before the shot list

The player character is often not who you remember. A fidelity check against the real game runs before anyone writes a shot.

3. Live-action sheets and Visual DNA

Characters, locations and props each get a live-action sheet, checked by review agents, then registered as a Visual DNA so they look the same in every shot. Images use GPT Image 2.5 at 2K.

4. A continuity bible

Before prompting video, the agent writes a continuity bible with locked sentences for every detail that must not drift: who sits where, which way the jeep faces, what is on the roof.

5. Seedance 2.5 drafts and review rounds

Every scene is generated with Seedance 2.5 in Draft mode, reviewed by the team, and fixed shot by shot. Only approved takes go to final quality.

Rules worth stealing

  • Realistic references only. Drawn or game-frame images leak a cartoon look into video generations.
  • Never patch only the last note. Fixing one note and firing again lets other details drift. Update the continuity bible first.
  • Never retype IDs. Build every generation call from the log, so the right character and location always go in.
  • Hide the brand in the world. Each film carries a Kolbo.AI logo placed naturally inside the scene, never stamped on top.

Nostalgia does the hook. Fidelity does the rest. The agent just needs the rules written down.
